Review of Who Killed the Electric Car? (2006) by James D — 20 Mar 2008
It's not a perfect documentary; there is obvious sentimentality toward the EV car the owners felt so attached to and that was taken away from them. There is a lot left to be said about GM's missed opportunity and how Honda and Toyota are dominating the market for high-efficiency cars.
The documentary does not adequately address how electric cars displace pollution to power plants instead of tailpipes; instead, it shows owners proclaiming their pride in "zero emissions." You have to have patience to stick with the documentary the whole way through.
