Review of Whiteout (2009) by Matt G — 28 Mar 2010
All the elements for a first-class thriller are present... but the film has quite a number of misfires and never really delivers full value.
Effects are done on the cheap and WHITEOUT suffers for it. Kate Beckinsale is allright and Gabriel Macht is better than he needs to be but veteran Tom Skerritt hands in one of the most wooden performances of his career.
WHITEOUT adheres to formula and this results in a promising premise, unique setting and original story ending up completely forgettable.
Worth a watch on a rainy afternoon but it's a rental at best.
