Review of White Zombie (1932) by Tristan P — 30 May 2008
Feeling like a mix of a 1920's UFA expressionist piece and a 1940's Monogram potboiler, this is arguably the only horror film from the 1930's that is actually SCARY. Lugosi is at his demonic best as voodoo master Murder Legendre.
I pray to whatever gods there are that this nightmarish masterpiece is NEVER REMADE.
