Review of White Oleander (2002) by Robyn M — 01 Aug 2012
This movie is very complex, based on a best selling novel, it flopped at the box office because nobody knew what it was except avid readers. I happened to stumble apon it, and was almost regretful. The first 10-15 minutes are bleek and tiresome and not to mention confusing.
As I said "Complex". Michele Phiefer who's a manipulative mother and controling even from jail was sentence for killing her boyfriend. Ingrid (the daughter) was sent to hell and back from a foster home, orphonage and possibly a dream life, that was taken from her by her mother.
She's emotional and finally stands up to her mother thats imfusivly intense she's finally free. freedom something that was taken when her mother makes mistakes.
