Review of White Noise (2022) by Kirkender — 03 Jan 2023

I've never read the book, but this film is rad. The performances are fantastic. The story and setting is engaging and entertaining. It's hilarious, emotional, and weird AF. There's lots of references to films of the era without it feeling like a nostalgia trip; it actually feels like art.

I especially enjoyed the Robert Altman style overlapping dialogue, and the Close Encounters / Spielberg vibes. This film is vibrant and colorful, which is refreshing even if it is referencing rampant consumerism.
