James Cagney became famous for gangster roles, but his best role wouldn't come until later in his career, after a long absence from those roles. As Cody Jarret, Cagney exudes screen menace. He was robbed of a much deserved Oscar for playing one of the best screen villains ever.
He will floor you, whether lamenting his mother's death or going out in flames literally. Top of the world Ma!
