Review of White Dog (1982) by Masorad ( — 12 Jun 2009
Fuller takes Romain Gary's brute metaphor and delivers an in-your-face b-movie diatribe against racism that includes fine performances from Paul Winfield, Burl Ives and the white dog(s). Paul Bartel & Dick Miller make cameos, as does Fuller himself.
The film was shelved upon completion due to a campaign of ignorant rumours and Paramont's spinelessness, and as a result is still finding an audience. Deserves a larger one.
