Review of White Dog (1982) by Bill B — 18 Sep 2009
Fuller's controversial film about a white German Shepard trained to instinctively hate black people is an interesting watch, as some of the acting is a bit hammy, but Kristy McNichol is fine as the dog's concerned new owner, and Paul Winfield appears very devoted as the trainer who attempts to de-program the animal.
A few of the dog attacks are almost comical (he manages to leap onto a street-sweeper and cause major destruction?), but overall the tone is one of people trying to pick up the pieces of a mess someone else made.
Definitely worth a rental.
