Review of White Christmas (1954) by Aidan S — 27 Dec 2009
"That's funny, I can't seem to find what makes this movie a classic phenomenal movie everybodies telling me it is.".
Those were my words when I got done watching this with my friends. "It kinda sucked..." I muttered. My friend turned to me and said, "But it's a classic! How could you not like it?".
I shall share these opinions today in this review. The thing that bugged me the most in this movie is how it's horribly fast paced. Every other scene there is a fade-in fade-out that irritates me to the point of ripping my hair out. This means that they skip transitions that could be filled with a song that could make me enjoy the movie more. But no, they're not going to.
As for the "comedy" in this movie... one part made me have an actual hard laugh. This is of course the scene where Wallas and Davis dress up like women. Other than that, I found the jokes very dried up and poor. They didn't make me laugh, it's as simple as that.
Overall I thought I would've appreciated the movie more if I lived to see 1954 and how it could've been a good movie THEN. But in the now, it's not a very good movie.
(PS Just because it's a classic doesn't mean it's good!).
