Review of White Bird in a Blizzard (2014) by Richard B — 01 Mar 2015

Ugh, what was this? After hearing some good things, I saw this on Netflix and had to give it a watch. I really wish I would have spent that hour and a half on something else. White Bird in a Blizzard is a total train wreck, featuring annoying voice-over narration, poor acting and plenty of laughably bad moments.

I'm not really on the Shailene Woodley bandwagon like everyone else seems to be. Yes, she's nice to look at, but the talent has never really been there for me. She's just one of many things wrong with this movie though.

Eva Green is truly terrible and over the top. Her character honestly felt like a spoof at some points - the whole thing is just ridiculous. This film is sloppy and all over the place, yet somehow still manages to be mostly uneventful, with a run-time that felt much longer than it really is.

I was honestly sick of this entire thing by the time the story wrapped up. I just wanted this damn movie to end. Avoid this one.
