Review of Whiskey Tango Foxtrot (2016) by Valerie L — 10 May 2016
Not having read Barker's (not entirely sure why they changed her name to Baker for the film) biography on which this film is based, I still enjoyed every moment of the movie. I laughed and I cried as we followed Kim's journey from being a behind-the-desk news producer in NYC to a frontline journalist embedded with the US Marines in Afghanistan.
This is not meant to be a documentary but allowed us enough of an insight into what goes on behind the scenes for those who become addicted to the action in a warzone. Props to a wonderful cast who bring these characters to life without turning them into caricatures.
