Review of Whiplash (2014) by Hazzagalla — 22 Feb 2016
'Whiplash' is brilliant, in most regards. The performances are top notch, especially the brutal J.K Simmons. However, whilst the great script presents a tense, emotional struggle inside Miles Teller's character, unfortunately SOME elements of the story feel unnecessary and completely out of left field.
This is only a minor complaint however, because there's no doubt Damien Chazelle's film will be hailed as one of the greats of 2O14.
