JK Simmons must have had a lot of fun playing the obnoxious, self-centred and borderline evil music teacher - it's essentially a license to be rude and impolite for 90 odd minutes. There's are lot more than to this film than just his dominant performance, and the way the lead character deals with this is a delight.
