Review of Whiplash (2014) by Allison K — 10 Jan 2017
A sports movie or a musical work of genius? I still can't decide. I could not find anything to dislike in this absolute epic story. The writing and directing was pitch perfect, the performances were superb, the music was fantastic, and the editing was exhilarating.
My God, I could barely catch my breath at the end. I cannot wait to watch director/writer Damien Chazelle grow as a filmmaking force to be reckoned with.
