Review of While We're Young (2015) by Johnnylee T — 07 Apr 2017
Intelligent comedy about "lost" middle age couple trying to find meaning through a 20-something couple. But much more especially when we come across a storyline of what is fake and what is real as depicted in the media (sound familiar to anyone living in the 2010s?). The comedy is great too ("I didn't mean bless you in the sneeze sense, the Pope sense").
Both leads are wonderful. Ben Stiller's best movie (I'm not usually a fan). And the writer/director has just made a very tight meaningful movie that has real feeling and smarts at under 90 mins. Only quibble? Overuse of the baroque on the soundtrack but hey, there's also Bowie, Lionel Richie, McCartney & Wings, and loads of hip-hop!
