Review of The Facts of Life (1960) by Jessicaann D — 19 Aug 2007
For those who always wondered what would happen if Lucy ever hooked up with Bob Hope, here is your dream movie.
Hope and Ball play off one another well in this comedy about an affair between frenemies. Ball plays the tired and true housewife who betrays her husband out of boredom while Hope is tired of the organized life his wife forces down his throat.
The movie is solid and it tumbles along nicely, I only wish the comedy didn't lie so heavily on Hope. Ball is a hilarious woman, but the script mainly segregates her to the straight man role.
A decent enough laugh.
