Review of While She Was Out (2008) by Simon D — 11 Nov 2009
The basic story concept was interesting. A mother of two with an abusive husband goes out at night to do some last minute shopping on Christmas Eve, which we all know how fun those can be, and is forced into defensive mode when a confrontation with a group of hoodlums in the parking lot ends with the death of a mall security guard and her running for her life.
For something that could have been quite psychological and terrifying, it was way too slow paced and nearly uneventful. They should have played a lot more on the fight for survival aspect. She spent most of the night trying to avoid them while running around some woods near a housing construction site.
