Review of Where to Invade Next (2015) by George L — 04 Mar 2016
I'll write this review without considering Michael Moore's previous movies. I think it's only right.....since it's so boring compared to the others.
Imagine you've never heard of Michael Moore or his previous films. For most of this one, it seemed more like a documentary made my a country's tourism ministry. If I had not known the name of the movie, I would have been wondering for a while what Moore's point was. Is this to promote the standard of living of a certain country? .
Okay, fine, I got the point of the movie and realized that he was highlighting the standard of living that he, in his mind, we Americans are capable of attaining. Amazing vacations from work, no-cost higher education, delicious school lunches, "5-star" prisons, etc. Lets steal those ideas.
Too bad, though, as I think America has evolved into am entity that cannot and should not be compared to these smaller European countries. Those are small country benefits, and we are no small country.
Overall, good points were mentioned. Will we see bankers in jail? No, but it's important to discuss. Yes, I did say the movie was boring but it makes you think. Just enough for me to say that you should invade this movie next.
