Review of Where the Wild Things Are (2009) by Brant D — 22 Jan 2012
So since this is a Spike Jonze movie, one will usually go in knowing it's going to be different. But a lot of times, different is good. If you're like me, the Maurice Sendak book was a part of your childhood.
The characters we fell in love with as children come alive in this movie. They have real feelings and are emotionally insecure or unhappy. The movie is more geared towards adults then kids, wonderfully so, but it will most likely divide audiences.
Artsy nuts like me will love it.
