Review of Where the Wild Things Are (2009) by Xeike T — 10 Mar 2012
I found it reminiscent of observing an un-medicated state hospital psychiatric ward. Except only one of the "persons" there actually IS human. Very disappointed in myself for waiting to BUY this to watch it.
Sigh. Found it disturbing that the mental deficiencies of most of the characters could easily be picked out. Even more disturbed that this movie seems geared towards children. Also disturbed that the "plot" (if I can call it that) begins with the seriously maladjusted child acting out violently.
Culminates with him running away from home where he has this terrifying and dangerous hallucination. And then resolves when he comes home and his relieved mom rewards him with cake. Seriously?
