Review of Where the Truth Lies (1999) by Dana A — 09 May 2008
I've never liked Atom Egoyan though I had never seen any of his movies until now. I can now finally justify it. I just found this movie to be a mess. It tries so hard to be smart yet comes off as complicated and actually pretty uninteresting.
The story is actually pretty good but it's buried in pretentious dialog, narration, flashbacks, and sex. I'm sure some might like it but it just feels phony.
