Review of All Things Fall Apart (2011) by Dana A — 04 Dec 2011
This movie first gained attention when rapper 50 Cent posted a picture on his twitter feed of his 50 pound weight lost. Dubbed the "milk dude," I didn't have any faith in this film knowing 50 Cent was going to the star of the movie.
I wasn't a fan of him in Get Rich or Die Trying, I'm not a fan of him this film. This was just poorly made and poor acted, even the props used looked poor. I'm all for independent films but the beauty about those films is the rawness and power behind the performance.
This was not a performance driven film. 50 Cent abandon all personality he usually has in his rap music to create a dead monotone character. Then there's the supporting cast which sucks as well but they try their hardest not to.
Lynn Whitfield and Marion Van Peebles try their hardest and bring a relief to the bland nature of he film. Their characters as the loving mother and father figure offer a supporting hand to both 50 Cent's character and the audience suffering through this.
Overall this film, now on BET is not really worth anyone's time. Its boring, lack personality and 50 Cent's bad acting is not worth the trauma.
