Review of Where the Truth Lies (1999) by Hugh J — 12 Jul 2008
Pretty good as a one-time viewing. I was never really bored throughout the thing but there were way too many slow spots that prevent me from wanting to see it again. The acting's on and off, mainly because of Alison Lohman.
Kevin Bacon and Colin Firth were pretty good, although I didn't buy Mr. Firth whenever he got angry or swore. Just like I didn't really buy Alison Lohman as a journalist. At least not the kind she was trying to portray.
The story itself was kinda decent with a few good twists, although, the ending could've been executed better. Really, the main reason to see this is if you're a big fan of Kevin Bacon. Dude was entertaining in every scene he was in.
