Review of Where the Heart Is (2000) by Anne B — 29 Oct 2008
I'm still wondering why I watched this one. A plot that involves a preagnant girl, who has to live in a Wal-Mart after her sleazy boyfriend takes off, doesn't sound too bad when nothing else is on, I guess.
They make it look like she lives there the entire film, when she actually lives there for maybe a half-hour in. Then, the story falls apart from there. I can't really tell you what this was. It was just a film filled to the max, with unecissary sub-plots involving a run around nurse, and Portman's ex-boyfriends singing career, and the abduction of her baby were all just rediculous.
And if that wasn't crazy enough, why not mix things up with a couple of amputations, and a tornado. I will admit that the ending is satisfactory, but it's not worth trying to survive through 115 minutes of mindless prattle to get to the films only awww moment.
Frain is the only one here that shows he can act. Utter crap.
