Review of Where the Crawdads Sing (2022) by Truerock — 16 Jul 2022
The author of the novel "Where the Crawdad Sings" is wanted for possible connection to a murder of a Black person in Zambia. So, many professional film reviewers feel compelled to give this film a bad review.
Thus, one might be curious as to how good or bad is this film... actually.
I really cannot see anyway a reasonable individual could rate this movie lower than 6. It is obviously somewhere in the 7 to 8 range - from a purely analytical perspective. Sure, if this is the kind of genre you enjoy you might think of it as being in the 8 to 9 range... just as a matter of how much one might enjoy the story line, script, and acting style.
Likewise, if you just don't care for a somewhat melodramatic, chick-flick kind of thing you might be more inclined to rate it something like a 7 perhaps - strictly from an analytical perspective.
The ridiculous bad reviews a lot of the professional film reviewers are giving this film reflect a complete lack of professionalism.
If a professional film critic has a strong opinion in regard to the author of the novel and wants to go on record with their opinion, they should certainly do so. To publish a review that is inaccurate and essentially foist untruthfulness on their readers is dishonest.
