Review of Where the Boys Are (1960) by Andres G — 16 Feb 2009
A great cautionary tale disguised as a spring break happy comfort movie. I was pleasantly surprised by what this film had to say by the end. It's acting and tone are somewhat a bit dated, the thematic is as relevant today as it ever was.
Underneath the wholeness of the film is a groundbreaker that delves into the themes of sex vs. love and what role women or men have to play in the late 50's. Overall, I was very pleasantly surprised by the end and I'd give this a MATINEE.
PS: Look out for the late and great FRANK GORSHIN "AKA THE RIDDLER from the 1960's BATMAN TV SERIES!!" He does a great comedic role in the role and he's just full of energy. Overall good film!
