Review of Where Eagles Dare (1968) by J D — 11 Jan 2008
The operative word is "dare". This is the quintissential "daring mission." It starts off a little slow, but the last 40 minutes, particularly the scene on the cable car, is nail-biting 40 years later.
It was great to watch Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood play off each other, two very different performers, two very distinct styles, that worked together perfectly. One of the best World War II flicks I've seen.
