Review of When the Game Stands Tall (2014) by Frank P — 22 Aug 2014
I admit - the critics have crapped on this film, but for what it was - I enjoyed it. It was the first movie (with a religious tone/message) that I enjoyed this year: why? because it didn't slap me upside the head with it.
And this story does touch on a subject I see too often - what happens when football becomes the end all be all, which it shouldn't, and the too oft obsessed parent. And man have I seen some obsessed parents of athletes.
Overall, this movie is a touchdown. Remember, it's just a game....and there is no I in TEAM.
