Review of When a Stranger Calls (2006) by Jim M — 27 Sep 2009
Jill Johnson (Camilla Belle) settles in for a quiet night of babysitting when she begins to receive increasingly threating phone calls.
Pretty deceint horror thriller (haven't seen the original). Effective, and Camilla Belle carries the movie well. Lance Henriksen and Tommy Flanagan do effective if thankless work as the Stranger's Voice and the Stranger respectivly. Boo to the fucking trailers for givening away the killers location and you could shave about 20 minutes off this film by getting rid of the superfulious teen high school drama bullshit that serves only as padding. Pretty good, not great, not bad. Effective well it lasts be leaves no lingering impact.
