Review of What's Up, Doc? (1972) by Leonardo - Malacay - S — 13 Dec 2010
Side-splitting Babs-vehicle, and she's charming, delightful, and yes, even sexy here, in an obvious ode to the plethora of screw-ball comedies that the 30's & 40's cranked out on a steady basis.
A huge cast of very-recognizable comic faces (Including beaky-&-geeky Austin Pendleton, a very-frumpy & funny Madeline Kahn ((In her first film role-)), "The Dukes of Hazzard"'s Sorrell Booke, "Bewitched"'s haughty Mabel Albertson, & Mel Brooks perennial-zany Kenneth Mars) all become embroiled in a mad search through San Fran to recover their various identical traveling-cases, with hysterical results.
In my top four comedy films of all time, along with "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World", "Scavenger Hunt", & "Million Dollar Mystery".
