Review of Whatever Works (2009) by Jeffery T — 10 Jan 2010
I laughed regularly throughout the film...
As a fan of Larry David I came to "Whatever Works" predisposed to be receptive to it. Whilst the plot is transparent and the ground covered is nothing new for either David or Allen, the misanthropic character of Boris had enough acerbic lines to keep me laughing throughout.
It's lightweight, and far from being a cinematic masterpiece, but very enjoyable if you happen to have a sense of humour that comes in a shade of black.
