Review of Whatever Works (2009) by Tsukasa A — 07 Dec 2014
It's a comedy of a middle-aged, misanthropic divorcée and his new partner who is much younger and innocent. If it is not disgusting, it's probably because of some kind of optimism which underlies the story.
Thus the sophisms the misanthropist uses are funny to the contrary. Nothing lasts eternally. Even love has its end but it seems the story affirms such love and life as it is.
