Review of What Maisie Knew (2013) by P. P — 21 Jul 2014
Sensitive and almost unwatchably perceptive about dysfunctional families -- acted with knife-sharp precision by the whole cast, (particularly Maisie herself, played by Onata Aprile). Heart rending but never manipulative, the tone of this film is perfectly balanced.
A nuanced look at adults behaving badly and childrens' tenacious ability to navigate and survive.
