Review of What Just Happened (2008) by Ryan M — 26 Feb 2009
Not Bad. But nothing memorable. I wouldn't say its a laugh out loud comedy throughout but there are a few times that do so. The main plot is very funny and well executed by the director and most of the cast. De Niro is great, as are Willis and Penn in there self-character roles. Unfortunately, Stanley Tucci and John Turturro don't get to show their talent for dark comedy because of a lack of interesting character or dialogue. The ending of the film kind of catches up fast and makes you wonder the point of the whole film. Not usually a good sign. If anything, it's a great chance to see Robert De Niro take a leading role in finally NOT an awful movie.
I can't believe I'm saying this but..Mr. De Niro you need a comeback.
