Review of What Just Happened (2008) by Jonathan A — 30 Jun 2009
Film producer finds himself at odds with his professional and love life when the two start to converge. Funny, but in an extremely subtle manner that may fly over a lot of casual viewers' heads. I also found the story lacking in momentum; Robert De Niro, while excellent in this film seemed to just float in and out of scenes being everyone's punching bag.
"What Just Happened" is essentially a long, drawn-out episode of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" that has the spunk and spirit of prodding Hollywood, but lacking in the same pizzaz of the dialogue.
Still, I reservedly recommend this to anyone who likes seeing actors make a joke out of the film industry.
