Review of What Have I Done to Deserve This? (1984) by Jilly L — 09 Jan 2008
Was a vey intriguing film, with such brilliantly crazy, yet very believable characters. With a plot which incorporates such themes as paedofilia, prostitution, prescription drug addiction, drug dealing, dysfunctional familes, forgery, murder and other risque elements, it's surprisingly comedic!
The only part which really put me off it is the surreal scene where the neighbour's daughter puts up wallpaper with her mind, in a Matilda-type fashion. It just didn't seem to fit with the feel of the rest of the film. Other than that, it was fairly entertaining.
