Review of What Happened to Monday (2017) by Najd G — 02 Jan 2018
The story's premise is requesting too much suspension of belief when it demands us to swallow that the top political issue of the future will be one family's rebellion to the Child Allocation Act - but that's not the film's biggest problem. The acting is quite subpar - even Willem Dafoe seems more disinterested than distressed - but this isn't the biggest issue either. The plot holes multiply quicker than the human population crisis - yet still that isn't the biggest issue. The biggest problem with this movie is that it begins a bold thought experiment that ultimately makes the choice to betray itself.
Maybe in 2073, we'll get a reboot instead of the Child Allocation Act.
