Review of What Happened to Monday (2017) by Mayank A — 02 May 2018
Loved the concept of the movie, an overpopulated 2043 where the one-child policy has been enforced, all siblings are put to cryosleep, where they would be awoken ones there is a solution to the population problem. In comes a group of septuplet sisters named after each day of the week, it's the story of how they survive to adulthood by dogging the authorities and what happens when they are found out.
The acting is great by Noomi Rapace ( Millennium series: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Fame), she is really good in these intense thrillers with woman leads. In the end though, while I found the idea of the movie cool, the story itself was full of obvious plot holes, which only becomes more apparent as we near the end. What should have been an exciting ending, is plain dumb. Still, a decent effort by these guys does leave you entertained especially Rapace performance of seven different characters.
