Review of What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? (1962) by Laimis Z — 07 Mar 2009
This is a true classic indeed. amazing. it's a black comedy, a thriller, full of drama and suspense, and it´s so sad at the same time. bette davis is just fantastic as a crazy sister who is so desperate for spotlight, full of jealousy and oh so bitter.
joan crawford is very good too, but baby jane does steal the show. every scene with her is just... she does make the best of it. plus the off-screen rivalry and bitchery between the two divas does make the whole experience even more fun to watch.
finally! a film that puts them both together and all you have to do is watch the talent work. these two are truly one of the best actresses ever, and it does show. this is crazyness of top quality. "Sister, sister, oh so fair.
.. why is there blood all over your hair?" brilliant!
