Aldrich's finest film, which on paper looks like an error in casting, but no, Davis and Crawford played their roles perfectly. Unlike films of today who have to use gore to scare the audience, Aldrich uses suspence and evil coming from within a character, with lines that makes you feel cold by its ugliness.
