Review of What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? (1962) by Sagar S — 18 Dec 2013
The highly powerful performance of Bette Davis & an adequately restrained one from Crawford make movie watching quiet a treat.
The film captures the life of an child artist who has 'not grown up.Just become old'.If one wants,he can see a satire on society(how Edwin takes advantage of Jane Hudson,Mrs. Bates is nosy, etc.) The endless self-obsession & jealousy of Ms. Jane Hudson.Add to it a 'mystery' in the plot. The climax is a bit depressing. The movie making reminds of Mr. Hitchcock.
All said & done,the film is pretty underrated(as I believe).....4/5.
