For me, this movie was a bolt out of the blue- who would have thought that Bette Davis could rival the best of Hitchcock's sinister henchmen? A creepy, almost sordid movie that is as shocking today as it was in '62.
It never seems dated, and believe me- the suspense is unbearable for the last hour of the film, at least. Thriller/suspense fans or movie buffs in general- if you haven't seen WHATEVER HAPPENED TO BABY JANE?, you're sorely missing out on one helluva thriller.
