Review of What Dreams May Come (1998) by Kenny S — 07 Jul 2011
The visuals are great, and some of the ideas and issues are also good, but it is so pretentious and serious and melodramatic that it becomes boring, despite having such a tremendous visual canvas. If it hadn't tried to be so serious, had more lightheartedness, the drama might have had some weight, but Robin Williams seems to detached even when he is alive, and Cuba Gooding Jr.
seems to be forcing it a good chunk of the time. It also is a tad confusing at times, with plot points that come out of nowhere or go nowhere.
