Review of What Do We See When We Look at the Sky? (2021) by Jluis_001 — 12 Jan 2022
As a viewer, one is always the recipient of the images and of course, the entire plot, however what happens when you must be the recipient of a story that uses the passage of time with the thematic defense of all things happening around us?
That in itself is a theme that can mean that this film can be considered a majestic epic of cinematic art, or a simple and mundane exhibition of self-indulgence and pretentiousness.
That's why, in a nutshell, What Do We See When We Look at the Sky? is specifically that kind of film.
Although hardly a viewer who doesn't consume this kind of cinema would try to pay any attention to it.
I don't think it's a bad film, far from it, but the primary reason I'm taking one star off is because I fervently believe this film shouldn't have been 170 minutes long.
That's where the pretentiousness and the ambition get out of hand for its director.
