Review of What a Way to Go! (1964) by Jay N — 02 Jun 2012
Predictable and monotonous, this one joke premise of MacLaine marrying men who become rich then die is short of charm and innovation. It is the kind of "Here we go again" sitcom screenwriting that looks so dated today.
The only thing of interest is to see MacLaine, Newman, Van Dyke, Martin, Mitchum, and Kelly together at a prime moment in their film careers. Otherwise, it is for the very bored or chronically nostalgic.
