Review of Westworld (1973) by Jon . — 10 Aug 2006
Probably the stupidest movie I've ever loved, "Westworld" is the first of the "amusement park run amuck" films which would later continue with "Rollercoaster" and "Jurassic Park.
" In "Westworld", two patrons of the western-themed park are repeatedly threatened by a gunslinging robot (Yul Brynner), who malfunctions and takes the game too far. Clearly an inspiration for James Cameron's "Terminator," Brynner radiates a sense of cool logic even in the heat of battle.
This movie is way more fun than it has any right to be.
