'Boy, machines are the servant of man!'.

A desire for primitivism is created amongst the park attendees by transcending time away from the banalities of ordinary life and current human anxieties caused by modernisation. Supposedly docile bodies accept control and satisfy human desires in order to create an authentic experience of Westworld, Medievalworld and Romanworld. With the robots ambiguously malfunctioning, the premise of the film plays on the fear of technology taking a life of its own. A concept ahead of its time has been reimagined as the HBO hit series. The television format allows for character arcs and plot exploration to be investigated in depth, whilst also searching for what it means to be human.
