Review of Westworld (1973) by James D — 28 Aug 2008
An obvious precursor to Jurassic Park and The Terminator. Part of the movie is kind of just a weird Western movie where the main characters just mess around and have no fears of getting killed or punished.
The second half of the movie is more of a thriller with a lot less dialogue. I wasn't all that hot on the choice for the good guy in the second part of the movie. I felt they made the wrong decision there.
They also threw in a couple other characters that didn't have much story to go along with. An interesting movie and look at the future (as seen in 1973) but not as strong as I would have liked. The bad guy was great though I think they knocked down his coolness factor by having him pretty weak, and stupid early on in the film.
