Review of Westworld (1973) by Tyler W — 08 May 2009
I would consider this a Sci-Fi classic after my first viewing. The story is simple, yet executed perfectly, leaving me very intrigued. I wonder if there were such a thing as West World today and if it would be successful or not.
Could such a thing exist? I think so, but with a lot of complications along the way. I loved the movie because it made me ask questions like that, and I even thought of my own self. Which world would I pick and how would I behave.
This film really opens up the mind's imagination. I enjoyed the film just as much once things took a turn for the worse, and we see all hell break loose. It was thrilling to watch, and though the film definitely feels dated, it didn't lose my interest.
Talks of a remake have me excited, itching to see how they can improve upon the original. I can't wait.
