Review of Westworld (1973) by Steve H — 08 Dec 2012
I sometimes wonder if seeing Westworld when I was young was one of the reasons I became so hopelessly addicted to science fiction. It was imaginative and touched on so many inherent human desires. This movie, dated thought it may be, flawed as some of the effects may be, is an excellent window into the world as we might one day remake it to be.
The acting is pretty darn good, and it is build around a solid story. With the exception of the chase scene near the end of the film, which is a tad taxing, this one is great. Westworld (1973) is excellent vintage science fiction from an era so very uncertain of what cybernetic technology might bring.
Are we that much different today?
